Today was one of those high challenge days that you seem to run into every so often on a long bike trip. It wasn’t the mileage- 60 and change/ about 110 kilometers. It wasn’t the hills, as there pretty much were none. It wasn’t even being routed onto a non-existent bike path, as I was able to recover from that without having gone too far out of my way. Why I Didn’t Stay at Krodel Park

Sixth Day on the Ohio – Forked Run State Park Campground, Ohio to Kanauga, Ohio
My goal in riding today was to make it the 60 miles/100 kilometers or so to Krodel Park Campground in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. I expected a hilly ramble on a very minor road, Ohio State Route 124, right up along the bank of the river to the town of Pomeroy, then a ride across a bridge to West Virginia with the last 15 miles/25 kilometers or so completed in that state.

Why the Rest/Slack Days?

Down the Ohio River – It Begins
On August 20th I reached Point State Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which celebrates the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers to form the Ohio River.
