Well surprise, surprise!!
I’ll be on a plane mid-day Friday for Florida and plan to start the ride on Monday, the 25th. How we got to this point is a long story, and there will be a few changes…
…heh!
I have an early appointment with a cardiologist this morning to get final clearance, which I am confident that I’ll receive. I’ll post later today with the whole story of the past few days, plus some, err… updated maps. Don’t worry, the ride is still Beach to Beach.

Friends, there’s no other way to say it. I’m in the hospital and the start of the trip is necessarily on hold. I can’t leave for Florida on Monday and have had to defer my ticket. I’m pretty down about this, but confident that things will work out in the long term.

The days are just flying by now. I finished up ordering all the biking clothes yesterday along with a few odds and ends. There’s just this and that left.
Tomorrow is the “resting” day of my two day cardio stress test. It’ll take a couple of hours on each day, apparently. I’ll keep you posted.

Most of the gear and accessories I have ordered arrived this week, and there’s just a few things left to go. I plan to have the last of the things I need sent off for by the weekend. I have an endocrinologist appointment today and see my GP doc tomorrow. Hoping to get some good advice from each. A cardio stress test is in the works, probably for late next week. After that, it’s just the dentist and sticking to my training plan. Then it’s wheels up for Florida on the 18th.
If anyone knows of a really inexpensive, but clean and safe place to stay in Jacksonville from the night of the 19th through the night of the 23rd, please let me know. I’ll be making a reservation at a motel in Atlantic Beach for the night of the 24th so I can be dipping my wheels in the ocean at around 5:30 a.m. the next morning. Thanks in advance for your recommendations.
